Usyk calls on Trump to facilitate the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war

Ukrainian WBA, WBC and WBO world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk addressed US presidential candidate Donald Trump through popular stand-up comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan. That’s what he’s about reported in your Platform X (formerly Twitter) account.
Usyk asked Rogan to deliver an important message to Trump during his appearance on the podcast. Boxer called on Trump to use his influence to free Ukrainian defenders who are being held captive by Russia, including the defenders of Azovstal.
“Dear Joe Rogan, could you ask Donald Trump when he appears on your podcast: If the president is so confident of his influence over Putin, could he immediately help free the defenders of Azovstal and all Ukrainians from Russian captivity? Time is of the essence. Sincerely, Oleksandr“, Usyk wrote.
It should be noted that Usyk’s appeal took place against the background of preparations for a rematch with Tyson Fury, which will take place on December 21. During the first meeting of the boxers for a battle of views, the Ukrainian appeared in the bold image of the “assassin of the Russian president”, which caused a lot of discussion in the media.
In the context of Donald Trump’s politics, it is worth recalling that he previously spoke about the Russian-Ukrainian war, accusing Joe Biden of the fact that the invasion happened precisely because of his politics. Trump stated that he maintained good relations with Putin, who respected him, and repeatedly tried to convince the Russian leader not to carry out aggression against Ukraine, emphasizing that for Putin, Ukraine was the object of the greatest aspirations.
