Usyk promised $80,000 for “gold” to Ukrainian Olympians
The spokesman of the Olympic Committee of Ukraine confirmed to journalists that Usyk undertook to pay the prize money to the medalists.

The famous Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk promised to pay his own funds to the members of the Ukrainian Olympic boxing team if they can win medals at the Olympic Games in Paris. About this informs Reuters.
At the 2024 Olympics, Ukraine will be represented in boxing by Ayder Abduraimov (up to 57 kg), Oleksandr Khizhnyak (up to 80 kg) and Dmytro Lovchinskyi (over 92 kg). Usyk actively supports them in preparing for the competition.
“He helps our boxers a lot in different ways. He supports them financially.” Dmytro Sosnovsky, coach of the Ukrainian national boxing team, said in an interview with Reuters.
According to Sosnovsky, Usyk promises to pay $80,000 for the gold medal, $70,000 for the silver and $50,000 for the bronze.

In August 2023, Usyk defeated DuBois to retain the IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight titles. On the night of May 19 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Usyk also defeated Britain’s Tyson Fury to retain his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles, as well as capture Fury’s WBC belt.
On June 26, Usyk presented his IBF belt for the fight between Britain’s Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, showing his support and respect for his colleagues in the ring.
