Vitaliy Zaychenko won the competition for the position of Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo

Vitaliy Zaichenko, chief dispatcher of NEC “Ukrenergo” became the winner of the competition for the position of chairman of the board of the company. About this reported Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy Andriy Gerus.
Acting head of the company Oleksiy Brecht and Ivan Yuryk, responsible for Eurobond issues at Ukrenergo, who previously temporarily headed the board of Ukrzaliznytsia in 2020-2021, also participated in the competition.
From November 20, 2024, Vitaly Zaichenko is a member of the board of Ukrenergo. His area of responsibility includes centralized operational and technological management of the unified energy system of Ukraine, coordination of its work with the European energy association ENTSO-E, organization of electricity transmission from producers to suppliers, as well as ensuring the country’s energy security. He is also responsible for planning energy balances and modes of operation of the unified energy system of Ukraine.
We will remind, on September 2, 2024, the supervisory board of NEC “Ukrenergo” adopted a decision on the early termination of the powers of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi as the chairman of the board of the company by mutual consent. Oleksiy Brekhta was appointed temporary acting chairman.
Among the possible reasons for Kudrytskyi’s resignation was the incomplete construction of protective structures around the system operator’s substations, which, according to claims, led to power outages after the August 26 shelling.
At the same time, independent members of the company’s supervisory board considered this decision to be politically motivated. Some of them, expressing disagreement, left their positions. In December 2024, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark was invited to head the updated supervisory board.
