Active decommunization continues in Ukraine. In Kyiv, 29 objects were renamed, in particular the metro stations “Druzhby Narodiv” (now “Zvirynetska”) and “Lev Tolstoy Square” (now “Ukrainian Heroes Square”).
The names of Trudova Slava Square, Pushkin Park, and Chkalov Square were also changed. In Odesa, two districts were de-Russified: Malinovskyi became Khadzhibeyskyi, and Suvorovskyi became Peresypskyi. In addition, Oleksandrivskyi Avenue was renamed to Ukrainian Heroes Avenue.
The following cities are in the process of being renamed:
- Chervonograd (Lviv Oblast) — Sheptytskyi;
- Yuzhne (Odeszine) — Port Anental;
- Pavlograd (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) — Matviyiv;
- Sinelnikovo (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) — Rydnopillya;
- Brovary (Kyiv Oblast) — Brovary.
Lviv Oblast became the first region in Ukraine to fully complete the process of decommunization, dismantling 312 Soviet monuments.
