“Zelensky wants to make a deal with Russia to ‘stop this madness’: Trump

The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, said that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to find ways to conclude an agreement with Russia to “stop this madness.” That’s what he’s about wrote on his page in Truth Social.

Trump claims that during the war, Ukraine lost “a senseless 400,000 soldiers”, and the losses among the civilian population, in his opinion, are even greater. He emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the start of the negotiation process.

“Too many people have died in vain, too many families have been destroyed. If the situation does not change, this could turn into an even bigger and more terrible conflict.” – said the newly elected US president.

Trump also noted that he has a deep understanding of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, and stressed that now is the time to act. In his opinion, China could become a key player in the settlement of the conflict, because “the world is waiting for changes.”

In his post, Trump focused on the weakening of Russia and Iran, saying that these countries are experiencing significant difficulties: Russia because of the war in Ukraine and the economic crisis, and Iran because of Israel’s military achievements.

Separately, Trump touched on the situation in Syria, where, according to him, the regime of Bashar Assad has fallen. He believes that Russia’s involvement in this region has lost all meaning because of its losses in Ukraine. Trump said that about 600,000 Russian servicemen had been killed or wounded in the war, which he called “senseless” and one that “should never have started.”
