Zelenskyy announced his readiness to leave the presidency for the sake of peace in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated, that he is ready to leave his post if it leads to peace in Ukraine or ensures the country’s accession to NATO.

“If there is peace for Ukraine, if you really need me to leave my post, then I am ready. The second story – I can change it to NATO, if there are such conditions. I say right away not to talk about it for a long time.”, – emphasized Zelensky.

He emphasized that he is focusing on Ukraine’s security “today, not in 20 years” and is not going to “be in power for a decade.” According to his conviction, membership in NATO will be the cheapest option for guaranteeing Ukraine’s security.

“In any case, whether someone wanted it or not, supported this idea or not – this topic is on the table. And this topic will be on the table of security guarantees and negotiations. I don’t know how the negotiations will end, but in any format, in any case, it will be on the table. We will probably discuss it with our partners.

And here it is very important that we all understand that this is not the negotiating table to which Ukraine is invited. This is our table, because there is a war in Ukraine. First of all, we invite our European leaders, because the war is in Ukraine, and we are an integral part of this continent – Europe, the future of the European Union.”, the president noted.
