Zelenskyy to address the participants of the Nordic Council in Iceland

On October 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will take part in the session of the Northern Council in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The main topic of this year’s meeting will be “Peace and security in the Arctic”. About this reported on the organization’s official website.

During his visit, Zelenskyi will also hold meetings with the prime ministers of the Northern European countries, who will come to participate in the session. The leaders will hold bilateral negotiations, as well as a joint press conference to highlight key issues of international support for Ukraine.

The Northern Council emphasized the importance of informing the public about the need to continue supporting Ukraine, especially given the strengthening of Russian propaganda in the region.

The Nordic Council also emphasizes the importance of ongoing efforts to remind and inform the public about why it is so important to continue to support Ukraine. Despite the high level of trust in the countries of Northern Europe, we must remember that Russian propaganda is constantly spreading and becoming increasingly visible in the Northern region as well“, the organization noted.

We will remind that in recent years, the Northern Council has repeatedly initiated support for Ukraine. In the spring of 2022, during a thematic session, it was discussed how the countries of the North can help Ukraine. In the same year, together with the Baltic Assembly, a meeting was held dedicated to the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The topic of support to Ukraine was also repeatedly discussed at the sessions in 2022 and 2023.
