Большинство российских нефтяных танкеров перестали работать из-за санкций

The latest US sanctions against the Russian oil industry have led to the shutdown of most Russian tankers. About this informs Bloomberg agency.

At this time, 94 of the 154 vessels included in the sanctions list by the Biden administration have stopped transporting Russian oil. However, it is still too early to predict the future fate of the remaining tankers that were sanctioned on January 10 and continue to operate.

Of the 44 tankers that loaded oil after being included in the «black list», 20 carry out transportation exclusively within the borders of Russia. A further nine are specialist vessels serving two projects on Sakhalin Island in the Far East, most of which are experiencing problems during off-loading.

Some countries have refused to accept Russian ships that have come under US sanctions. Among them are India, Turkey and some ports of the Chinese province of Shandong.

We will remind that in January 2025, the US Treasury Department imposed restrictions on the two largest Russian oil companies — Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, as well as insurance providers Ingosstrakh and Alfastrakhovani.
