The United States has declassified documents related to the assassination of the 35th president of the country, John Kennedy. The Kennedy assassination package contains about 80,000 pages of previously classified documents that have now been released without redactions. Larry Sabato, author of the book «Kennedy’s Half Century» and teacher, noted that it will take time to fully analyze these materials. However, it is unlikely that there is any «information bomb» among the published documents. The materials analyzed by the publication’s source do not contain anything that could disprove the current conclusion about Kennedy’s murder — the lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald is responsible for the crime.
Previously, many files related to this case have already been made public, including during the previous administration of US President Joe Biden. However, a significant part of the documents published on March 18 had been redacted before that.
At the same time, the US Central Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon and the State Department withheld some of the material from publication, citing confidentiality and the need to protect confidential sources who may be alive or still at risk.
