The International Register of Damages through «Diya» has started accepting applications for compensation for emotional pain and suffering caused by the disappearance of a close relative. About this informs «Diya» press service.
«If your close relative went missing after the start of a full-scale invasion — submit a statement to the international Register of Losses through the Diya portal, the message says.
A new service on the «Diya» portal allows you to submit an application to the International Register of Losses in category A 2.2 — «Disappearance of a close family member» as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine, starting from February 24, 2022. This opens up the possibility of receiving compensation for mental pain and suffering.
Parents of the missing person (biological, adoptive, stepfather or stepmother), spouse or common-law partner, children (biological, adopted or stepsons/stepdaughters), as well as other family members who are not close relatives, but had close ties with the missing person and can document it, can submit an application.
To submit an application, it is necessary to fill out form A 2.2 on the «Action» portal and add the extract number from the Unified Register of Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances. The application will be forwarded to the International Register of Damages for further consideration and compensation.
