1,212 bodies of fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

Returned defenders fought in the Kursk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. Law enforcement investigators together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will establish the identities of the dead as soon as possible.
The fallen defenders were returned thanks to joint work with the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine. The International Committee of the Red Cross facilitated the process.
We will remind you that on June 9, the first stage of the major exchange took place, which was agreed upon in Istanbul on June 2. It was possible to return home the first group among the wounded, seriously wounded and younger than 25 years old. On June 10, the second stage of the exchange of prisoners took place, as part of which the wounded soldiers returned.
