In Paris, several streets, underground passages and metro stations were flooded due to the heavy downpour. In the capital of France, the storms turned out to be so strong that hundreds of trees were uprooted. 20% of flights from Orly airport had to be canceled or diverted. Intense downpours caused flooding both at Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Roissy) and at the National Assembly building.
“Trees blocking roads, damage to infrastructure and homes, flooding and power outages are reported,” – says the message of the emergency service.
