60% of the National Guard soldiers are directly in combat zones: the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine

Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Pivnenko reported, that 60% of the National Guard soldiers are directly on the front line. The National Guard of Ukraine, as a structural unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, performs combat and law enforcement functions.

“60% is at war, 40% is a law enforcement component. We cannot specify in numbers”, – noted Pivnenko.

He also noted the active role of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, who is often on the front lines, well aware of the situation at the front and other key areas of work. At the governmental level, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs supports the logistical support of the National Guard and promotes the adoption of necessary legislative changes to improve the efficiency of its work.

“We perform many tasks on the entire territory of the state jointly with other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – and this is about rapid interaction.” – added the commander of the National Guard.
