A group selling psychotropic drugs to civilians and military personnel was exposed in Sumy region

In the border areas of Sumy Oblast, a criminal group was exposed that sold the psychotropic substance “alpha-PVP-salt” to both civilians and military personnel. About this reported in the State Border Service.
The joint operation was conducted by operatives of the internal and internal security unit of the State Security Service of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The group consisted of three people who had a clear division of responsibilities. Law enforcement officers documented more than ten cases of sale of psychotropic drugs. In May, one of the participants was detained while trying to sell the substance to a serviceman.
During the searches, prepackaged drugs, cash, bank cards, communication devices and records with information about the trade were found in the possession of the perpetrators. Suspicion was announced to all three involved. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
We will remind you that on May 13, 2025, the National Police conducted a large-scale special operation to eliminate drug-trafficking centers in 15 regions of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers exposed an organized group that was engaged in the manufacture and distribution of psychotropic substances – alpha-PVP, amphetamine and mephedrone – throughout the country.
Criminals have created an extensive infrastructure of drug laboratories and warehouses where illicit substances are produced, packaged and stored. Every month, they managed to produce more than 700 kilograms of drugs, which reached different regions of Ukraine. According to estimates, such volume of production is worth more than 300 million hryvnias on the black market. As a result of investigative actions, law enforcement officers liquidated 17 drug laboratories and 15 warehouses with psychotropic substances.
