Operatives of the Department of Internal Security together with the Main Investigative Department of the National Police launched an operation to stop the activities of a large-scale criminal group in Lviv.
He informed about it Department of Internal Security of the NPU.
“Operatives of the Department of Internal Security, together with employees of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, stopped the activities of an extensive criminal community. The criminal organization was engaged in the maintenance of places of debauchery and pimping in the territory of the entire Lviv region“, – informed the NPU.
Members of the organization have been charged with creating and leading a criminal community, maintaining places of debauchery and pimping, as well as attempted corruption in law enforcement agencies.
A remarkable aspect of this case is the discovery that among the members of the criminal organization was a lawyer who used his status to resolve problematic issues with state institutions. They also successfully established a network of brothels through a special call center.
Large sums of money, foreign currency, mobile phones, gold jewellery, weapons and cars were seized after massive searches by the police. This operation is noted as one of the most successful in the fight against organized crime in the region.
“The total monthly turnover of funds of the criminal community reached more than 16 million hryvnias”, – the institution informed.
The investigation is ongoing, and the court ordered preventive measures for the leaders of the group, detention without bail.
