Ukrainians’ deposits in banks increased by 12.6 billion hryvnias per month
As of June 2025, the total amount of deposits of individuals, including entrepreneurs, in Ukrainian banks reached UAH 1.44 trillion. In May, the volume of deposits increased by UAH 12.6 billion. The real growth (without taking into account the exchange rate revaluation of currency deposits) amounted to UAH 13 billion, while the revaluation had a negative effect of UAH 0.4 billion, informs press service of the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund.
Of the total volume, UAH 933 billion was placed in the national currency (plus UAH 14.8 billion for May), and UAH 507.8 billion — in foreign currency (minus UAH 2.2 billion). The share of deposits of individual entrepreneurs as of May 1 was 3.2% of the total number of depositors and 11.1% of the amount of deposits, which is about UAH 160.2 billion.
The largest group of depositors — 57.13% — keep accounts from 10,000 to 200,000. hryvnias, but this is only 27.95% of the total amount of deposits. Instead, more than 50% of the total amount of funds is concentrated in deposits exceeding 600,000. UAH, and belong to only 0.56% of depositors.
The guarantee fund reminds: from April 2022, a full 100% guarantee is in effect for bank deposits of individuals and business owners for the period of martial law and three months after its end. After that, the maximum amount of guaranteed compensation will be 600,000. UAH All 60 Ukrainian banks operating as of April 1, 2025 are members of the Guarantee Fund.
