A new unique well has been launched in Ukraine, which produces 110 thousand cubic meters of gas daily
In Ukraine, a new powerful well with a depth of 5,920 meters was launched, which produces approximately 110,000 cubic meters of gas. As informs the press service of Naftogaz group, the project was implemented by JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”, which achieved such a result thanks to modern field development methods.
Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of the Naftogaz Group, emphasized the importance of innovative approaches in the development of old deposits.
“The deposit, on which the well was drilled, is already more than 45 years old. But thanks to modern methods, we get an impressive result“, Chernyshov noted.
At this deposit, the company plans to drill two more new appraisal wells to further increase production.
Since the beginning of 2023, new wells have been intensively opened in Ukraine in order to increase the level of energy independence, which is especially important in the conditions of the war with Russia. In June, a powerful well was launched, which produces 439,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
On July 30, the country also put into operation a well that supplies 274,000 cubic meters of gas daily and is located right under the settlement. The achievements of 2023 became a record for Ukraine: 9.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced since the beginning of the year, which is 7% more than in the same period last year.
According to representatives of Naftogaz, such achievements will contribute to the stability of energy supply and help to strengthen the energy security of Ukraine, ensuring the needs for both domestic consumption and strategic reserves.
