The tax office warned about fake letters allegedly from Diia about tax refunds

The State Tax Service registered the distribution of e-mails allegedly coming from “Diya” and containing information about a possible tax refund. About this it is said in the statement of the State Tax Service.
In these letters, fraudsters add a link to a phishing site that visually imitates the official Diya portal, which is used for electronic identification of citizens.
The fake page contains false information about a tax refund, as well as instructions on how to complete an identification. Users are asked to enter personal data, including phone number, full name and bank card details, including number, expiry date and CVV code.
The data obtained by the fraudsters can be used to link the victim’s account to a new device, authorize their bank account and withdraw funds from the account. Phishing is a method of cyber-fraud, where users themselves transmit personal information, including name, address, phone number and card details, through fake websites.
