A program to support veterans’ wives has been created in Ukraine

In Ukraine, a support program for wives of veterans was launched, which includes training on psychological assistance, legal aspects and medical adaptation of military personnel after service. About this reported in the Ministry of Veteran Affairs.
The program is implemented by the public organization “Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nizhchy” and includes 18 lectures conducted by specialized specialists. As part of the classes, women whose partners are veterans, prisoners of war, missing in action, or dead military personnel will be able to receive advice on coping with stress, navigating legal issues, using state support opportunities, as well as the basics of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and health recovery after military service.
Participants will learn how to establish communication with a spouse after returning from service or captivity, what educational programs are available for families of veterans, how to properly organize nutrition to restore the body, as well as how to safely start your own business. The training will last up to two months, after which each participant will receive an electronic certificate.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs notes that wives or partners are often the first to provide assistance to veterans after returning to civilian life, but these women themselves often need support and special knowledge. Organizers emphasize that the main goal of the program is to give “knowledge, confidence and support to women who support their defenders.”
“This course will help veterans’ wives not only support their loved ones and themselves, but also gain important knowledge and skills to become stronger, more confident and more effective in dealing with the difficulties that come their way.”, – it is said on the program website.
