A US citizen who was wanted for 30 years for sexual crimes against children was detained in Ukraine
A US citizen who was wanted internationally for sexual crimes against children for more than three decades was detained on the territory of Ukraine. About this informs press service of the National Police.
The 66-year-old man was exposed by the cyber police together with the FBI and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. According to the decision of the Supreme Court of the state of Arizona, the suspect has been declared wanted since 1992. He is charged with molestation and sexual violence against four minor children aged between four and nine. According to American investigators, these crimes were committed between 1984 and 1991, when the man worked as a kindergarten director in Pima County, Arizona.
Law enforcement officers managed to establish that the man had been living in the Kyiv region for a long time, where he posed as a Mexican citizen using false documents. He even bought a private home in the countryside of the region.
After establishing the identity of the suspect, law enforcement officers searched his actual place of residence and detained him. Currently, prosecutors are preparing an appeal to the court with a request for temporary arrest, in order to further resolve the issue of his extradition. According to the competent US authorities, the man has been charged with fifteen articles of American criminal law.
