After the signing of the law on tax increases, 22.5 thousand sole proprietorships were closed in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the year, 254,288 individual entrepreneurs have ceased their activities in Ukraine, and 22,500 of them closed after the President signed the law on tax increases. About this informs Opendatabot platform.

The largest number of closures of FOPs took place in March, when 28,690 entrepreneurs ceased their activities. Peaks of activity were also observed at the end of reporting periods, which is associated with the desire of entrepreneurs to avoid additional tax obligations and simplify reporting.

A special surge of closings took place in the fall, after the adoption of the law on a significant increase in taxes. The innovations have caused outrage among some entrepreneurs, who consider the new rates unfair, while officials emphasize that they remain lower than the level of taxes in the EU.

In the first days after the signing of the law, the number of closed FOPs reached more than 1,000 every day, and on November 29, the day of its signing, 2,332 business closures were recorded. This is significantly higher than the average of 700 closures per day.

We will remind that in October, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 11416-d, which provides for an increase in taxes, in particular the military levy. The law entered into force on December 1, 2024.
