An innovative air defense system developed for Ukraine was presented in Britain

Britain presented the latest anti-aircraft missile complex Gravehawk. It was created specifically for Ukraine, informs Forces News.

The Gravehawk was designed to combat drones, cruise missiles and aircraft. Its development started from scratch and lasted 18 months. The cost of the project was 6 million pounds, which is more than 7 million dollars.

The basis of the complex was the Soviet R-73 air-to-air missiles, which were adapted for launch from a ground launcher. Several British defense companies were involved in the development, but their names have not been disclosed. The launcher is housed in a standard ISO shipping container, making it easy to transport by truck, train or ship. The crew of the complex consists of five people.

British Defense Minister John Gealy, while on a visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels, emphasized that this system is “proof of Britain’s long-term commitment to Ukraine in its war with Russia.”
