As a result of the Shahed strike on an apartment building in Sumy, there are casualties and deaths

On January 30, at night in Sumy, a Russian “shahed” hit a high-rise building. Nine people were injured, including a child. It is also known about two dead people. About this informs State Emergency Service.

“On January 30, the enemy attacked one of the 10-story residential buildings in the city of Sumy. As a result of the attack, 9 apartments and 12 balconies were previously destroyed. The emergency workers managed to save 4 people, including 1 child, and 118 people were also evacuated.” – says the message.

Rescuers found the bodies of two men and two women under the rubble. Special services continue to work at the scene of the tragedy, sorting through the wreckage and searching for possible victims.

“Two spouses were killed by an anti-aircraft missile strike on a high-rise building in the residential area of ​​Sumy this night. They are elderly couples. The Shpetny family: a 74-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman and the Borysenko family: a 65-year-old man and his 64-year-old wife,” they said. in the prosecutor’s office.

Rescuers quickly organized a mobile support station at the scene. Psychologists and medical specialists of the State Emergency Service provide the necessary assistance. Two cynological calculations were involved for search works. Citizens are provided with comprehensive support, and special equipment is used for high-altitude work.

“The emergency services and our guys did the clearing. First they took out the grandfather and there was a girl. She was injured, she had a hip or hip fracture and was covered in blood. We took her to the “emergency” service. There was also a woman, but the floors fell in, but from which one specifically this family is not understood on the floor, and the mother has not been found yet, the emergency department is investigating further”, — said Gennady Vorona, a volunteer of the Red Cross rapid response unit in the Sumy region.
