At the age of 100, former US President Jimmy Carter passed away

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has passed away. The former president died at the age of 100, which he celebrated on October 1, at his home in Plains, Virginia. About this reported publication of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Carter lived longer than any other US president. In February 2023, after several brief hospitalizations, he moved to a hospice home in Plains. This is the former president’s hometown, where he was born in 1924. His son, Chip Carter, did not specify the cause of death. However, it was previously known that in recent years, Jimmy Carter had been battling an aggressive form of melanoma that had spread to his liver and brain.

Carter headed the United States from January 1977 to January 1981. In 1982, together with his wife Rosalyn, he founded the “Carter Center”, which was engaged in the protection of human rights. For his efforts in the field of peace, democracy and human rights, he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

Rosalyn Carter passed away in November 2023. The couple has four children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
