Body cameras for tax officers are being introduced in Ukraine as an anti-corruption tool

In Ukraine, a new approach to fighting corruption among tax officials was announced. A key innovation will be the use of body cameras during tax audits. This method is designed to increase the transparency of the work of fiscal bodies and minimize the risks of corruption. About this reported Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Danylo Hetmantsev in his Telegram channel.

According to Hetmantsev’s statement, all employees of the tax service conducting inspections will be equipped with body cameras. These devices will record the verification process in real time, creating a video recording that will become an evidence base in case of conflict situations.

The cameras, according to the official, will not only eliminate the possibility of illegal actions on the part of tax officials, but will also protect them from groundless accusations. It will also make it difficult for unscrupulous taxpayers to “solve the issue” outside the law.

In addition to body cameras, employees will receive modern tablets and portable printers to improve the work of tax authorities. This will significantly increase the efficiency and accuracy of document preparation during inspections. Such equipment will reduce the time it takes to prepare inspection results and make their work more efficient.

The innovations aim to eliminate opportunities for corruption on the part of both auditors and taxpayers. Hetmantsev called the use of body cameras one of the most effective anti-corruption measures, which will ensure transparency in the interaction of business and state bodies.

The new anti-corruption approach has the potential to increase business and public confidence in the tax system. If the implementation is successful, this experience can serve as an example for other areas of public administration.
