At the request of the prosecutors, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail. In addition, Poberezhniuk was suspended from performing official duties. He is suspected of abusing his official position, which led to serious consequences.
We would like to remind you that after statements about illegal methods of influencing subordinates in the 211th brigade, a criminal proceeding was opened, the investigation of which was entrusted to the State Bureau of Investigation. Also, after publications in the mass media about the abuse of servicemen in this brigade, an official inspection was launched.
Many illegal facts were established, including the beating of soldiers if they drank alcohol but did not pay money. The son of the chief of staff and the godson of Brigadier General Poberezhnyuk, Vladyslav Pastukh, who was the commander of one of the platoons in the first battalion, was mainly involved in abusing the soldiers.
