NABU registered proceedings against Umerov

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has opened proceedings based on the statement of the Anti-Corruption Center (CPC) regarding the possible commission of a crime by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov. About this reported Central Committee press center.

“The minister’s actions may constitute a crime under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position).” – the message says.

The CPC noted that on January 24, the Minister of Defense, in violation of the law, did not implement the decision of the Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency (AOD) to extend the contract with the director of the AOD, Maryna Bezrukova, for one year.

In addition, Umerov fired two members of the Supervisory Board who supported this decision, Taras Chmut and Yuri Dzhigyr. Other council members, independent, voted against.

“We are sure that we will have to answer for these actions and NABU should carefully check the motives and consequences of the minister’s decisions”, the organization added.

We will remind you that earlier the Anti-Corruption Center submitted a statement to NABU regarding the alleged violation by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine of Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
