British submarine software developed in Russia and Belarus: The Telegraph
The British Ministry of Defense has recognized the security issue as a serious threat to defense and is conducting an investigation.

British nuclear submarines use software developed in Russia and Belarus, which is against UK Ministry of Defense regulations. About this informs The Telegraph.
According to the publication, the software was supposed to be created exclusively by British personnel, but its development was partially transferred to engineers from Siberia and Minsk. This raises serious security concerns, as there is a risk that code created by Russian and Belarusian developers could be used to reveal the location of British submarines.
The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain recognized this problem as a serious threat to national security and launched an investigation. According to the investigation, the company, which transferred the work on the internal network of personnel to engineers from Russia and Belarus, initially hid this fact. The firm used false names of dead Britons to mask the true whereabouts of its workers.
Rolls-Royce Submarines, which operates the UK’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines, decided to upgrade its staff intranet and outsourced the work to digital consultancy WM Reply. WM Reply involved engineers from Belarus in the development, one of whom worked remotely from Tomsk, Siberia, according to documents submitted at the request of the Ministry of Defense.
The incident raises concerns about compromising UK defense capabilities, as it emerged that an earlier project had also been outsourced to developers in Minsk. The UK Ministry of Defense is taking appropriate measures to ensure the security of its systems and prevent similar incidents in the future.
This situation highlights the importance of strict control over the development of critical software and the need to comply with all security regulations, especially in the military field.
