Budanov told which messenger is the safest

Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov considers Signal is the most secure among popular messengers.

“As strange as it may seem after recent events, from what has been listed, Signal is much better protected as a messenger”Budanov said.

He drew attention to the fact that most often it is not the messenger itself that is hacked, but the phone. According to the head of the GUR, in such cases it is no longer important which messenger is installed, because criminals gain access directly to the device.

In addition, Budanov refuted the popular opinion that push-button phones are more reliable:

“This is completely nonsense, because it is more of a Russian experience. There is a goal of control. Therefore, in order not to complicate your life, everyone was told: use push-button phones.”

He also emphasized that ordinary GSM communication is intercepted with full guarantee, so this communication format makes it easier to control what “people are talking about”.

We will remind that in March, a political scandal broke out in the USA due to the publication of the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg. In his article, he revealed that President Donald Trump’s administration accidentally added him to a secret Signal chat.

The chat included Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and other senior officials. The chat was called “Houthi PC small group” and was created by President Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Waltz. Its purpose was to coordinate the actions of the American army regarding strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.
