Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi stated, that the Ukrainian military is doing everything possible to protect Pokrovsk from the onslaught of the Russian army.
“The enemy is making every effort to take Pokrovsk, and we are doing everything to protect it, to prevent its capture. You remember that some “prophets” said that we would lose him on September 30. And at the same time, they confidently told us that we would not be able to resist. But September 30 passed, then they said that we would lose on October 30″, – noted the head.
He also emphasized that Russia is bringing its best units and reinforcements to the battles for Pokrovsk.
“The enemy has the opportunity to change them, he has a greater potential for conducting offensive actions… for now, but we are doing everything to inflict maximum losses on him and protect literally every meter of our territory.” ‒ Sirsky emphasized.
We will remind that on January 18, the Khortytsia operational-strategic group denied rumors that Russian troops had entered Pokrovsk. According to the Ukrainian military, fighting continues in the Kotlyny district near the city, but all attempts by the enemy to break through the defenses remain unsuccessful.
