Business lending is growing rapidly in Ukraine

The share of hryvnia loans for small and medium-sized enterprises is growing rapidly, and their total volume increased by 22.1% over the past year. About this reported Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pishnyi.
“Lending. Here banks exceeded any expectations of the beginning of 2024. Over the year, the volume of business loans increased by 20.6%. Net hryvnia loans to SMEs increased somewhat faster – by 22.1% over the year. Their share in the net hryvnia portfolio of business loans increased to 60.2%.” Pyshnyi said.
According to him, net hryvnia business loans have been growing for a year and a half in a row. At the same time, the share of loans under the “Affordable loans 5-7-9%” program decreased to 33.7% in the structure of the net hryvnia portfolio of business loans.
The share of hryvnia loans with a maturity of more than three years also increased – it reached 25.2%. Over the year, the volume of such loans increased by 58%. The NBU declares the formation of a trend related to the revitalization of business investment demand. In addition, the volume of net hryvnia loans to the population increased by 39.9% over the year.
