Ukraine received 4.8 billion dollars from the United States within the framework of the PEACE project, aimed at supporting the country’s reforms and recovery. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“Ukraine received 4.8 billion dollars from the World Bank within the framework of the PEACE project. This is the largest investment project in the history of the bank, launched to support our state in the implementation of reforms, social and educational spheres, the sphere of health care, agricultural producers, as well as reconstruction projects “, – said Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has already received almost 50 billion dollars through the mechanisms of the World Bank. He expressed deep gratitude to the United States and international partners for their support.
The PEACE project (Public Expenditure Support for Sustainable Public Administration in Ukraine) provides funding for the country’s key needs, such as the payment of pensions, assistance to internally displaced persons, salaries for educators and workers of emergency and rescue services. To ensure the transparency and efficiency of the use of funds, the World Bank has implemented a system of careful monitoring, which prevents corruption and controls all expenses.
