In just three months (from January to March 2024), about 86,600 cars were imported to Ukraine from other countries. The total customs value of the car amounted to more than 1.13 billion US dollars.
Most often, cars are imported from Germany, the USA and China. According to the data of the State Statistics Service, in the first quarter of 2024, 17,100 cars were imported from Germany to Ukraine. In addition, 14,500 American cars and almost 9,200 Chinese cars were imported.
Most often, imported cars go to Kyiv, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Lviv region and Odesa region.
The most popular car brands among Ukrainians are Volkswagen, Renault, Audi and Nissan.
About half of the cars imported to Ukraine are used cars that are more than 10 years old.
During April, 25,500 cars were imported from abroad. Only about 5.7 thousand (22.4%) of them are new cars.
The growing popularity of electric cars has been a notable trend in recent years on the Ukrainian automotive market. In January-February, more than 8,000 such cars were imported. For comparison: in the first 2 months of 2021, only about a thousand electric cars were imported into Ukraine.
