Construction of the Kanivska HPP has begun: “Ukrhydroenergo” signed the road map of the project
“Ukrhydroenergo” announced the signing of an important road map with the Canadian company AECON, which defines the key stages and tasks for the implementation of the construction project of the Kaniv Hydroelectric Power Plant (HAPP). This agreement marks a new stage in the development of Ukrainian hydropower messages press service of the department.
During the working visit to Ukraine, representatives of AECON and the American company AECOM together with specialists of “Ukrhydroenergo” and “Ukrhydroproekt” held technical meetings where they discussed the main aspects of the project, including financing issues, updating project decisions and adjusting documentation to improve the efficiency and safety of the future station.
Special attention was paid to visiting the construction site of the Kanivska HPP, where company representatives assessed the current state of work. In addition, the delegation inspected the Kanivska HPP, which is currently undergoing reconstruction of its main equipment.
The signed road map will become the foundation for further cooperation between “Ukrhydroenergo” and AECON, cementing the obligations of the parties in matters of financing, adapting project solutions to modern requirements and improving safety.
Construction of the Kanivska HPP, which began back in 1986, but was stopped in 1991, will finally get a new lease of life. The updated project envisages the construction of a station with a capacity of up to 1,000 MW, which meets the needs of Ukraine’s modern energy system and will contribute to increasing the country’s energy independence.
