The Government has extended the “Contract 18-24” project to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the National Guard
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to expand the experimental project “Contract 18-24” by adding the State Border Service (SPSU) and the National Guard to it. About this informs press service of the DPSU.
“From now on, the project “Contract 18-24” opens the way for volunteers to the ranks of the Defense Forces not only in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also in the State Border Service and the National Guard. – the message says.
The experimental project is aimed at citizens of Ukraine between the ages of 18 and 25 who can sign a contract to serve in units of the State Security Service in rank-and-file positions.
Corresponding changes have been made to the government’s resolution “On the implementation of an experimental project to increase the motivation of certain categories of citizens of Ukraine to undergo military service in the Armed Forces during martial law”. The border guards note that the changes made it possible to simplify the process of medical examination and signing the contract – now there are fewer bureaucratic procedures, more efficiency.
A separate decision regulates the process of approving positions for volunteers aged 18–24. In the DPSU, these positions are determined by the Border Service Administration in agreement with the General Staff. The service contract for citizens of this age category is concluded for a period of one year and provides for the completion of basic military training, specialized training and adaptation in the unit.
The “Contract 18-24” project guarantees volunteers aged 18-24 a monetary reward in the amount of 1,000,000 hryvnias, of which 200,000 hryvnias are paid immediately, the rest — during the term of service. The monthly financial support can reach 120,000 hryvnias.
In addition, a reward is provided for servicemen of the appropriate age who have been in service since February 24, 2022. One of the prerequisites for receiving these payments is to participate in combat operations for at least six months in total during the contract period.
In turn, the National Guard reported that there are currently defined units to which citizens of the specified age can join. These are the brigades of NSU “Azov”, “Chartiya” and the Special Purpose Center “Omega”.
“These units have an effective training system, they have shown themselves to be one of the most effective and motivated. Their command, the commanders of the units, have combat experience, experience in implementing advanced solutions and innovations. And the very system of attachment within the framework of the ‘Contract 18-24’ project will make it possible to get into one of the best units, where the recruit will become a professional soldier.”, – explained NSU spokesman Ruslan Muzychuk.
