Cosmic fortune of People’s Deputy, member of the VRU Committee on Anti-corruption Policy Roman Ivanisov (video)

During the years of parliamentary activity, the family of people’s deputy Roman Ivanisov made large-scale acquisitions, including real estate and cars for a total amount of almost two million dollars. At the same time, according to his declarations, the savings were almost half as much. These details became known thanks to investigation Bihus.Info journalists.
Modest declarations and significant expenses
In 2019, during the parliamentary elections, Roman Ivanisov submitted a declaration that looked quite modest: small assets and income, but the declared cash savings amounted to approximately one million dollars. It remains a mystery how the deputy was able to accumulate such a significant amount, considering his small income from renting real estate, a salary of 56 thousand hryvnias per year and the earnings of his wife – 37 thousand hryvnias in 2019.
In 2020, his wife, Maryna Ivanisova, began to actively spend these savings. In February and April, she bought two new Mercedes premium cars — GLE350 and GLS400, spending about $200,000. She also invested in two apartments, three parking spaces and three bicycle spaces in the residential complex “Manhattan city” in Kyiv, near the central station. This property cost about 320 thousand dollars. The following year, Maryna Ivanisova bought a new Volkswagen Multivan for $90,000.
Investing in real estate during the war
In the fall of 2022, already after the start of a full-scale war, Roman Ivanisov himself invested 12 million hryvnias in the purchase of two more apartments in Kyiv. According to his declaration, this money came from his mother, Iryna Ivanisova. A 66-year-old woman, registered as an individual entrepreneur in Berdyansk, explained the origin of these funds as many years of entrepreneurial activity and “grandmother’s savings”.
Occupied Berdyansk and business re-registration
Despite active investments in Kyiv real estate, the deputy’s mother continues to live in temporarily occupied Berdyansk, where in 2023 she re-registered her business under Russian law. According to Ivanisova, this was a step to protect her property in the occupied city. She also noted that the family is considering the option of her moving to Ukraine, although, according to her, Berdyansk “has always been and will remain Ukraine.”
Real estate purchase in 2023
In 2023, the Ivanisov family continued to buy real estate. The deputy’s wife bought three plots of land and a cottage, which is still under construction, in the cottage town “Ariel Village” near Kyiv. According to the declaration, the price of the land and the house amounted to slightly more than 3 million hryvnias, although the developer sold similar houses for at least 30 million hryvnias. Marina Ivanisova explained this by the fact that they purchased the property at the price at which it was offered.
The position of the deputy himself
Roman Ivanisov, answering the journalists’ questions, referred to employment and asked to forward the questions through one of the messengers. However, by the time the investigation was aired, no response had been received. It is noteworthy that Ivanisov is a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy.
For reference:
Roman Ivanisov is a people’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” party. In 1996, he was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment under Part 3 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of 1960 (attempted rape committed by a group of persons) and Part 2 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of 1960 (satisfaction of sexual passion by unnatural means with the use of physical violence committed by a group of persons). After the general public became aware of his prison term for the rape of a minor, he left the party. Currently, he is a representative of the “Restoration of Ukraine” group and an active member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy.
Ivanisov was also noted for the scandal connected with his fake diploma. Journalists reported that the people’s deputy indicated in his official biographies that he graduated from Berdyansk University of Management and Business[5] and Zaporizhzhia State University, but both universities denied this, stating that Ivanisov did not receive diplomas from them.
