Cyprus canceled the “golden passports” of 77 people: Ukrainian and Russian oligarchs were included in the list

The authorities of Cyprus continue to cancel the “golden passports” previously issued to foreigners under the investment program. About this reported the Greek publication Politis, noting that the corresponding list was compiled almost a month ago.

Among the Ukrainian oligarchs who lost their Cypriot citizenship are Igor Kolomoiskyi, Oleh Bakhmatyuk and Kostiantyn Hrygoryshyn. The passports of their family members were also canceled. The list also includes well-known Russian multimillionaires, such as Oleg Deripaska, Oleksiy Kuzmychev, Mykhailo Gutseriev, Igor Kesaev, Oleksandr Ponomarenko, Vadym Moshkovich and Serhiy Lomakin.

In addition, the list includes Malaysian broker Joe Lowe, who is wanted for financial fraud and fraud, as well as law firms and auditing companies that contributed to obtaining “golden passports”.

Official reasons for the cancellation of passports are not disclosed, however, as noted in the material, it may be related to the submission of false data, criminal record of investors or non-fulfillment of naturalization requirements.
