Due to Russian shelling, the ZNPP was on the verge of a blackout

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was on the verge of blackout due to shelling by Russian troops, as a result of which one of the two power lines of the ZNPP was cut off. About this reported Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Currently, the station remains connected to the Ukrainian power system through only one power transmission line. Power restoration works will be able to start when the security situation allows.
“Again, there is a real threat of a blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP due to enemy shelling – one of the two power transmission lines connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP with the unified energy system of Ukraine has once again been disconnected.
Due to the occupation of the plant by the Russians, the situation at the ZNPP remains threatening, and only the return of control over the NPP to Ukraine can guarantee the safe operation of the largest nuclear plant in Europe.”, – noted the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko.
