Due to the drone attack, explosions and fires broke out in several regions of the Russian Federation
On the night of March 20, drones attacked several Russian regions. Explosions were heard in the Saratov, Voronezh and Rostov regions of Russia. In the city of Engels, private houses caught fire and a hospital was damaged. This was reported by the leaders of the relevant regions of the Russian Federation.
The governor of Saratov region, Roman Busargin, noted that the city’s clinical hospital in Engels was damaged by a drone strike, and a woman was injured. In addition, debris damaged a private house.
As a result of the attack, windows in two kindergartens and a school in the city were also partially broken. Due to this, classes in educational institutions will be held remotely on this day, added Busargin. This is not the first explosion in Engels — in December 2024, two explosions rang out at the city’s strategic airfield, killing three military personnel.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Oleksandr Gusev, said that Russian air defense forces destroyed almost 40 drones in three districts and two city districts, in particular, in Voronezh itself.
Acting head of the Rostov region Yuriy Slyusar also reported on the drone attack. According to him, the anti-aircraft defense worked in the Tarasivsky and Millerovsky districts, but he did not specify the number of drones.
