During the first half of 2024, the number of FOPs in Ukraine decreased by almost 94 thousand (infographic)
The largest number of FOPs were closed in the sectors of retail trade, information technology and other services.

In Ukraine, during the first half of the current year, almost 92,000 FOPs ceased their activities, which is 54% higher than the figure for the same period in 2023. The number of company closures increased by another 15% – in the first six months of 2024, more than 1,500 enterprises ceased operations. About this informs YouControl.Market.
Experts note that the largest number of entrepreneurs closed in May and January – more than 16,000 each month.
“Traditionally, the leader in the number of closed FOPs is Kyiv – more than 12 thousand. In Kharkiv, 5.3 thousand, 3.8 thousand – in Odesa, 3.3 thousand – in Dnipro, and 2.8 thousand – in Lviv ceased to operate.“, YouControl.Market notes.

The list of communities with the largest number of closed FOPs included: Kryvorizka (Dnipropetrovsk region) – 1.4 thousand, Kremenchuk (Poltava region) – 780 and Bilotserkivska (Kyiv region) – almost 600.
YouControl.Market notes that the number of FOPs closed by men is 4% higher than that of women: more than 44 thousand (48%) FOPs were closed by women, and 47.7 thousand (52%) by men.
The largest number of FOPs stopped working in the retail trade sectors – more than 29 thousand (increase in closure compared to 2023 was 44.8%), information technology – almost 16 thousand (65.9%) and other services – 9.7 thousand (60, 8%).

The largest number of enterprises were closed in Kyiv – more than 200. Dnipropetrovsk – 187, Lviv – 127, and Zaporizhzhya – 96 were also the leaders among the regions in terms of closures.
Among the communities, the most companies were closed in Kryvorizka (Dnipropetrovsk region) – 42, Kamianska (Dnipropetrovsk region) – 18 and Brovarska (Kyiv region) – 15.
Wholesale trade – 194 companies, real estate transactions – 148, and construction – 95 became the leaders of the spheres in terms of the number of closed enterprises.
YouControl.Market also added that during the first half of 2024, 13,000 new companies and almost 148,500 sole proprietorships were registered in Ukraine. These indicators also exceed the data for the first half of 2023. During the same period in 2023, Ukrainians registered almost 12,500 companies and 134,000 sole proprietorships.
