Dynamo Kyiv finished the season undefeated and wrote a new page in the club’s history

Dynamo Kyiv players finished the 2024/25 season in the Ukrainian Premier League without losing any of their thirty matches. Under the leadership of Oleksandr Shovkovsky, the team won twenty victories and drew ten times, which secured the championship title. This is only the fourth time in the club’s history that the season has ended without defeat.
This happened for the first time in the 1999/2000 season, when Valery Lobanovskyi was the head coach: then Dynamo won twenty-seven matches and drew three times. Then, in the 2006/2007 season, the team under the leadership of Anatoly Demyanenko again went the distance without a single defeat – twenty-two wins and eight draws. The third case took place in the 2014/2015 campaign under Serhii Rebrov: twenty matches won and six ended in a draw.
Apart from the Kyiv club, only Shakhtar Donetsk managed to hold the championship without a single defeat — in the 2001/2002 season, when the miners had twenty wins and six draws.
The entire history of unbeaten seasons in the Ukrainian Premier League looks like this:
Dynamo — 1999/2000 season (27 wins, 3 draws);
Shakhtar — 2001/2002 season (20 wins, 6 draws);
Dynamo — 2006/2007 season (22 wins, 8 draws);
Dynamo — 2014/2015 season (20 wins, 6 draws);
Dynamo — 2024/2025 season (20 wins, 10 draws).
In the final match of the current season, Shovkovsky’s wards drew with the Kolos team. At the same time, shortly before the final whistle of this match Shakhtar Donetsk announced the resignation of its head coach Marino Pushych.
