Estonia provides Ukraine with another package of military aid

On November 16, the Estonian government supported the initiative of Defense Minister Hanno Pevkura regarding a new military aid package for Ukraine. The aid will include ammunition, protective equipment and other equipment needed to support the Ukrainian military. About this reported Ministry of Defense of Estonia.

Ukraine has been defending its freedom for nearly 1,000 days since the invasion, and it still needs help from Estonia and the free world. This package was formed from the reserves of our army, taking into account the needs of Ukraine and without harming the defense capability of our country“, Pevkur emphasized.

Among the aid provided are naval uniforms, surveillance equipment, scopes, ballistic protection equipment and various types of ammunition. Pevkur emphasized that this package will not be the last. According to him, Estonia plans to introduce an annual support program for Estonian companies, which will allow further assistance to Ukraine by involving the Estonian defense industry. This will not only support Ukrainian forces, but also have a positive impact on the Estonian economy and strengthen the country’s security.

In total, since the beginning of the war, Estonia has provided Ukraine with military aid amounting to more than 500 million euros, which is 1.4% of the country’s GDP, and is one of the largest per capita aid figures in the world.

Before that, Estonia had already transferred to Ukraine Javelin anti-tank missiles, howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-tank mines, grenade launchers, mortars, vehicles, communication equipment, field hospitals in cooperation with Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Iceland, as well as medical supplies, personal protective equipment and dry soldering.
