Explosions occurred in the territory of industrial premises near Zhytomyr: there are dead and injured

Explosions rang out near the highway near Zhytomyr, which occurred on the territory of two production facilities. As a result of the explosions, two people died, another 24 were injured, including four children. About this reported the head of Zhytomyr OVA Vitaly Bunechko.

“Unfortunately, we have 2 dead people. One has already been unblocked. Rescuers are still looking for the other. Those who died were at the enterprise. Many of the victims were at home. Out of 24 people who were taken to medical facilities, 4 were children. In addition, we are recording people’s self-referrals, so we will provide additional information later.” Vitaliy Bunechko noted.

According to the head of the Zhytomyr OVA, about 25 houses were completely destroyed, the exact number of damaged houses will be specified later – a tour of the affected areas is currently underway.

“We will provide all victims with temporary accommodation in our communal facilities, which are already preparing to receive people. The operational headquarters of the law enforcement unit, the headquarters of the Hlybochytsk village council are deployed. All services are working.”, – emphasized the head of Zhytomyr OVA.

Serhii Sokalskyi, the head of the Hlybochytsk community, clarified that the explosions took place on the territory of two industrial facilities that were completely destroyed. The causes of the explosions are currently being investigated. As a result of the explosion, three power lines were damaged, and 735 households were left without electricity.

“3 power transmission lines of 10 kilovolts were damaged, 50 transformer substations of 10/0.4 kilovolts were disconnected, 735 homes were without electricity. 9 operational field teams are working to eliminate the consequences”, — reported in JSC “Zhytomyroblenergo”.
