Shmyhal awarded Budanov for fighting the Russian army during the war

The head of the General Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) Kyrylo Budanov was honored by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal for his significant contribution to the fight against Russian aggression during the war. The award was presented for outstanding achievements of military intelligence in countering the occupying forces. About this Budanov reported in his official Telegram channel, expressing gratitude to Shmyhal and the entire Ukrainian government for recognizing the efforts of the GUR and supporting the special services.
Budanov noted that this award emphasizes the importance of the work of every scout who daily risks his life, protecting Ukraine from the aggressor.
“This symbolic award emphasizes the role and importance of the work of every intelligence officer who works every day and every night in various areas of the fight against the aggressor state – boldly, unconventionally, tirelessly and persistently”, – noted the head of the GUR.
Budanov also stated that the GUR continues its work focused on protecting Ukraine and its people from the Russian occupiers and their war crimes.
It is worth noting that on October 1, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi listened to the report of Kyryll Budanov. During the meeting, the plans and strategies of the Russian troops for the period until the end of 2024 were discussed.
In addition, on September 28, Budanov visited the Kharkiv region, where he checked the positions of Ukrainian scouts and planned further operations together with the commanders.
