Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump, plays an important role in shaping Washington’s Middle East policy. About this informs CNN.

Sources note that Kushner maintains good relations with many leaders of the Middle East. In addition, he has a number of financial projects in the region.
“No one on the new team has what Jared has, which is trust. Jared earned it, he didn’t have it in the beginning. He earned it. It takes time”, said an American diplomat who worked with Kushner during his time in the White House.
He noted that Kushner was relatively unknown to most players in the region before becoming the top Middle East negotiator during Trump’s first presidency.
Most likely, Kushner will not take an official position during the Trump presidency, but will work as an external employee.
