Finland’s largest fast food chain Hesburger plans to open restaurants in western Ukraine

Finland’s largest fast food chain Hesburger intends to invest more than 12 million euros in the opening of at least ten new restaurants in the western part of Ukraine within five years. About this it is said in the notification of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Hesburger, founded in 1966, unites more than 480 restaurants in nine countries by 2025, including Ukraine, where it currently operates seven points in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The company’s Ukrainian branch employs about 75 people.
“Finnish companies continue to see Ukraine as a promising partner. They not only maintain a presence on the Ukrainian market, but also see the potential for further business development. Such stability and trust is an important signal for the international business environment and a confirmation of the economic viability of our country.” – remarked Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oksana Osmachko.
As a reminder, in March 2025, Hesburger invested 7.3 million euros in the opening of a production and warehouse complex near Kyiv, which specializes in the production of meatballs and product storage.
“This is the first Finnish industrial investment in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. While many other investors are just talking, the Finns are acting, and Hesburger is among them.” – said Ms. Tarja Fernandes, Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine.
