For the first time, the Ministry of Defense purchased pickup trucks for the Armed Forces worth UAH 153 million

The State Enterprise “Defense Procurement Agency” under the Ministry of Defense purchased 154 Great Wall Wingle 5 pickups for the Armed Forces for the first time. These vehicles meet all technical requirements and are already actively used by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense.
11 participants participated in tenders for the purchase of pickup trucks. The winner offered a price of UAH 996,000 for the car, including VAT.
The total amount of concluded contracts is UAH 153 million, of which approximately UAH 40 million will be returned to the country’s budget in the form of duties, taxes and fees.
The pickups have four-wheel drive and a 2-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 143 horsepower, which meets the EURO-4 standard and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Cars can carry up to 5 people and cargo weighing up to 1 ton, and are also able to tow a trailer weighing 0.85 tons. Up to 4 personnel and additional weapons equipment can be placed in the body.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these pickup trucks will be important for the performance of various tasks, such as the work of mobile groups, the delivery of cargo and ammunition, as well as the evacuation of the wounded.
