Founder of self-proclaimed “Kingdom of Germany” arrested in Germany

The founder of the “Kingdom of Germany” association, Peter Fitzek, and three other alleged leaders of the organization were arrested after the decision to ban it. About this informs MDR.
The Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany, Alexander Dobrindt, banned the “Kingdom of Germany” association and initiated an investigation into its activities. According to Dobrindt, the members of the association created a “counter-state” and “economic criminal structures”.
Fitzek was detained in Halsbrücke near the city of Freiberg. The prosecutor’s office noted that he, as the “supreme ruler,” controlled decision-making in all key areas in accordance with the “constitution of the kingdom.” Fitzek “determined the ideological direction and issued his own laws.” Law enforcement agencies searched the premises used by the “Kingdom of Germany” to obtain additional evidence of its unconstitutional activities.
Fitzek founded Kingdom of Germany in 2012 on the site of a former hospital in Wittenberg. The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany classifies Fitzek and his supporters as representatives of the “Reichsburger” movement — persons who do not recognize the legitimacy of the modern Federal Republic of Germany.
The participants of the movement consider themselves citizens of the German Empire (Second Reich) of the Hohenzollern period and oppose the current state system. The “Reichsburgers” adhere to the belief that the Federal Republic of Germany is an “occupational administration” and the German state must exist within the borders as of 1937.
