France will help Ukraine create new enterprises for weapons production: Zelenskyy

Ukrainian industry has the potential to significantly increase the production of drones, missiles and military equipment, but financial capabilities limit this development. During the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to France, an important agreement was reached on the creation of joint Ukrainian-French arms production on the territory of Ukraine.
In his evening address on October 12, Zelenskyy said that these plans are being actively developed at the level of the defense ministries of both countries. According to him, the so-called “Danish model” is already functioning, when the governments of partner countries invest in the production of weapons. Ukraine considers the French model as an opportunity to attract investments in the creation of new defense enterprises.
The President also gave specific tasks to the Minister of Defense and the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries to ensure the implementation of all agreements reached.
Zelenskyi emphasized that although Ukrainian industry is capable of producing more military equipment, funding remains a key constraint. At the same time, the president noted that there are many international partners who cannot directly supply weapons, but are ready to help financially. Some of them have technologies that can be used in Ukraine to strengthen defense capabilities.
“There is a leadership of countries that unites others in the world for the sake of our joint production work”, – added Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
