Fuel prices will rise: the customs office has started registration for new excise duties

On September 2, the State Customs Service of Ukraine began customs clearance of fuel at new excise rates, which was an expected consequence of the adoption of Law No. 3878-I. About this informs enkorr publication with reference to market operators.

One of the traders noted that during the entire day of September 1 and the morning of September 2, the customs did not process fuel, but after lunch the process was resumed at the new excise rates.

Another interlocutor of the publication explained that the delay at customs was not a surprise, so his company completed customs clearance by August 30, and planned new deliveries after September 1 to avoid complications.

The new excise rates, which came into effect on September 1, include gradual increases in taxes on diesel, gasoline and LPG over the next few years. In particular, excise duty rates on diesel fuel will increase from €177.60 per 1,000 liters in 2024 to €330 per 1,000 liters in 2028. For gasoline, excise rates will increase from €242.60 to €359 per 1,000 liters, and for LPG from €148 to €250 per 1,000 liters over the same period.
